Alex completed his residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) where he published multiple book chapters and articles on prehabilitation, back pain, obesity, and the continuum of care for cancer rehabilitation. He is also the author of Healing in Advance, Your Prehabilitation Guide, a book for patients, and co-editor of A Prehabilitation Guide for All Providers, both of which are on track to be released by the end of 2024.

During his residency, Dr. Watson explored the interaction between obesity and common "PM&R conditions" like back pain, arthritis, and neurologic disease, which he now applies to his patients at Admire Medical. By targeting weight loss and physical activity, Dr. Watson provides long lasting improvements in pain, sleep, and risk for developing life changing illnesses like heart attack and stroke. He also uses comprehensive assessments, tailored treatment plans, and rehabilitative interventions to address musculoskeletal, neurological, and pain-related conditions.
